About the role#
Brown & Brown is looking for a Finance Intern to join our team in Daytona Beach, Florida. This is a paid, full-time internship program designed to give undergraduate and graduate students hands-on experience in finance and accounting. You will work on discrete phases of the direct bill reconciliation process for our Retail Division and complete projects that involve data gathering, analysis, and collaboration across departments. At the end of your internship, you will have the opportunity to present your findings and results to a panel of senior leaders.
What you'll do#
- Collect, transact, reconcile, and record insurance carrier commission statements and payments.
- Analyze, identify, and record unearned commissions.
- Support department tasks using standard accounting principles and deliverables.
- Use software automation to improve process efficiencies.
- Collaborate with teammates and share knowledge across the office.
- Assist other departments as needed and perform duties assigned by your department leader.
- Maintain a professional demeanor and reliable attendance throughout the program.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree program in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Foundational knowledge of financial accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- The ability to create and edit Excel spreadsheets.
