    About the role#

    The Brennan Center for Justice is seeking an undergraduate student for a Graphic Design Internship within the Communications department. This role provides design and administrative support to staff and offers opportunities to observe substantive meetings and program work. This is a paid, on-site internship for the Fall 2026 term.

    What you'll do#

    • Assist with graphic design tasks and produce still and motion graphics for digital channels.
    • Conduct archival and photo research to support the development of institutional, campaign, and brand assets.
    • Maintain the multimedia archive, including cataloging and organizing graphics, images, and video.
    • Perform administrative duties, such as coordinating meetings and drafting routine correspondence.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment as an undergraduate student.
    • Excellent design skills and proficiency with Adobe applications, specifically InDesign and Photoshop.
    • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work as an independent self-starter.
    • Interest in the mission and issues of the Brennan Center for Justice.
    • Academic background in Graphic Design, Communications, Media Studies, or Art.

    Location & details#

    • Location: New York, NY (On-site).
    • Term: September – December 2026.
    • Commitment: Approximately 10 – 20 hours per week.
    • Compensation: $18.40 per hour (subject to school internship policies).

    About Brennan Center for Justice

    The Brennan Center for Justice is a nonprofit law and policy institute established in 1995 and based in New York City. With a staff of 51 to 200 employees, the organization operates as a think tank and advocacy group focused on issues related to democracy and the justice system in the United States. It conducts research to develop policy proposals concerning voting rights, campaign finance, and mass incarceration. These findings are presented to legislative bodies, the courts, and the general public to influence legal and systemic reform.
