Digital Undergraduate Internship

About the role#

The Brennan Center for Justice is seeking a Digital Undergraduate Intern to support the Digital Team during the Fall 2026 term. This role focuses on content creation, creator outreach, and digital strategy within a nonpartisan law and policy institute. This is an on-site position based in New York City.

What you'll do#

• Support social media and creator engagement efforts across platforms including Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts.
• Draft captions, monitor audience engagement, and identify rapid-response opportunities related to breaking news and policy developments.
• Contribute to short-form content creation by drafting scripts, developing concepts, and assisting with video editing and graphics.
• Research potential creator partners, track engagement pipelines, and prepare briefing materials.
• Compile social media performance metrics and monitor industry trends to inform digital strategy.
• Assist with general research and administrative tasks, including attending and observing substantive program meetings.

What you'll need#

• Current undergraduate student status.
• Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in CapCut, Canva, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word.
• Ability to work as an independent, detail-oriented, and highly organized self-starter.
• Interest in democracy, civil rights, or social justice issues.

Location & details#

• Location: New York, NY (On-site).
• Term: September – December 2026.
• Commitment: Approximately 10 – 20 hours per week.
• Compensation: $18.40 per hour (subject to school internship policies).
• Majors: Communications, Media Studies, Political Science, Journalism, Graphic Design, or Marketing.
