Fall 2026 Operations Undergraduate Internship

About the role#

The Brennan Center for Justice is seeking an undergraduate intern for the Fall 2026 semester to provide operational support to the Manager of Administration and Special Projects and the Office Manager. This is a paid, on-site internship based in New York, NY, requiring 10 to 20 hours per week from September through December 2026.

What you'll do#

• Assist with general administrative tasks, including filing, photocopying, and shipping.
• Provide support for event organization and meeting coordination.
• Conduct research and handle clerical duties.
• Draft routine correspondence.
• Cover the reception desk, answer phones, and greet visitors.
• Attend and observe substantive meetings and program work discussions.
• Perform physical tasks such as lifting over 25 lbs.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment as an undergraduate student.
• Proficiency in Windows, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word.
• Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• A friendly, energetic, and professional demeanor, with comfort speaking on the phone and interacting with visitors.
• Academic background in fields such as Political Science, Business Administration, Public Health, Communications, or Human Resources is preferred.

• Commitment: 10 – 20 hours per week.
• Compensation: $18.40 per hour (subject to school internship policy requirements).
