Fall 2026 Multimedia Producer Undergraduate Internship

About the role#

The Brennan Center for Justice is seeking an undergraduate intern for the Fall 2026 semester to support the Multimedia team within the Communications department. This role provides hands-on experience in video production, editing, and digital strategy for a nonpartisan law and policy institute. Interns will assist with administrative tasks, observe substantive meetings, and contribute to the creation of digital assets.

What you'll do#

• Assist with creating video assets for digital platforms.
• Edit short-form videos and support media management by ingesting and organizing footage.
• Research and gather video elements, including stills, motion graphics, and music.
• Participate in video shoots, including the setup and operation of cameras, lighting, and sound equipment.
• Monitor and research social media trends to inform video strategy.
• Provide general administrative support, including coordinating meetings and drafting correspondence.
• Collaborate with team members, incorporating feedback into project iterations.

What you'll need#

• Current undergraduate student status.
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, with specific experience in Premiere Pro and AfterEffects preferred.
• Strong visual vocabulary and excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
• Familiarity with tools such as Zoom, Dropbox, and Slack.
• Ability to lift 40 lbs.
• Ability to follow production schedules and meet deadlines.
• Fluency in Spanish is considered a benefit but is not required.

• Location: New York, NY (On-site).
• Term: September – December 2026.
• Hours: 10 – 20 hours per week.
• Compensation: $18.40 per hour (subject to school internship policy requirements).
