Development Undergraduate Internship

About the role#

The Brennan Center for Justice is seeking an undergraduate intern for the Fall 2026 term to provide administrative and clerical support to the Development team. This is a paid, on-site position based in New York, NY, requiring 10 to 20 hours per week from September through December 2026.

What you'll do#

• Assist with administrative duties to support fundraising efforts.
• Conduct prospect research and update the fundraising database.
• Assist with donor correspondence and prepare mailings.
• Provide general clerical support, including filing, photocopying, and coordinating meetings.
• Support the individual giving and foundations teams.
• Assist with event organization and cover the reception desk as needed.
• Attend and observe substantive meetings and program work discussions.

What you'll need#

• Current undergraduate student status.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
• Strong written, research, and analytical skills.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and independent work style.
• Ability to adapt to evolving responsibilities.
• Academic background in fields such as Political Science, Business Administration, Communications, or Public Health is preferred.

• Location: New York, NY (On-site).
• Term: Fall 2026 (September – December).
• Compensation: $18.40 per hour (subject to school requirements regarding credit/payment policies).
