About the role#
Bree is looking for a Machine Learning Engineering Intern to join our data and infrastructure teams. You will work on real business problems alongside our full-time engineers. You will contribute to production code, participate in design reviews, and ship work that impacts our customers. We provide mentorship and clear project scopes to help you learn and contribute from your first day.
What you'll do#
- Prepare, explore, and validate data for analytical workflows and models.
- Support the training and evaluation of models for credit risk, fraud detection, and customer experience.
- Build scripts, tools, and tests to make model evaluation and experimentation more repeatable.
- Learn how to monitor model performance in production, including operational reliability, data quality, and drift.
- Explore new technical approaches with your mentor and document your results, tradeoffs, and next steps.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a post-secondary program for Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, or Engineering.
- Availability for the full 8-month term.
- Strong foundations in Python.
- Experience working with data through projects or coursework.
- Foundational knowledge of machine learning concepts and statistics.
- A curious, rigorous approach to solving problems and clear communication skills.

- This role is based on-site in Toronto, Ontario.
- This is a full-time, paid internship.
