About the role#
Braun Intertec is looking for a Specialty Testing Technician Co-op to join our team for a 6-month period, covering Summer and Fall 2027. This is a full-time, paid position based in Bloomington or St. Paul, Minnesota. You will gain field experience by working on commercial and transportation construction projects, where you will perform materials testing and collaborate with project managers and construction crews. You will be paired with a professional engineer mentor to guide your development and gain exposure to industry standards such as ASTM, AASHTO, ACI, and DOT.
What you'll do#
- Conduct onsite materials testing on various commercial and transportation projects.
- Perform routine to complex sampling and testing, including anchor testing, concrete coring, and hand auguring.
- Troubleshoot and adjust testing methods to meet specific site conditions and project requirements.
- Document field activities daily using an electronic format.
- Work independently or as part of a small project team.
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions, which may include working on uneven terrain, at heights, or in confined spaces.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a civil engineering, construction management, or related degree program.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record for the last 3 years.
- Ability to lift 75+ pounds.
- Ability to work overtime and weekends as necessary.
- A focus on safety and practical problem-solving skills.

- Locations: Bloomington, MN and St. Paul, MN.
- Modality: On-site.
- Duration: 6-month commitment from mid-May to December.
- Compensation: Hourly rate of $20 - $24.
