About the role#
Braun Intertec is hiring a Civil Engineering & Construction Materials Testing Co-op for a 6-month position in La Crosse, Wisconsin. This role runs from January to May 2027 and offers hands-on experience in the field. You will work with a professional engineer mentor and gain exposure to industry standards including ASTM, AASHTO, ACI, ICC, and DOT. This is a paid, full-time opportunity.
What you'll do#
- Perform testing on construction materials such as soils, concrete, masonry, and asphalt.
- Conduct onsite testing for commercial and transportation projects.
- Collaborate with project managers and technicians to ensure project specifications are met.
- Attend a 3-day training event covering construction safety, soil compaction, and materials testing.
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions and on uneven terrain, including heights or confined spaces.
- Perform physical tasks such as lifting 75+ pounds, climbing, balancing, and kneeling.
What you'll need#
- Working toward a degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Construction Management.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record for the last 3 years.
- Ability to lift 75+ pounds.
- Availability to work overtime and weekends as necessary.
- A safe work mindset.
- Experience driving large vehicles or working in construction, landscaping, or farming is helpful.

- Location: La Crosse, WI.
- Term: Winter 2027 (6 months).
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $20 - $24 per hour.
