About the role#
Braun Intertec is offering a 6-month co-op position based in Lenexa, Kansas. This is a full-time, paid opportunity for students to gain field experience in civil engineering and construction materials testing. You will work on commercial and transportation projects, mentored by a professional engineer. The program runs from mid-May through December.
What you'll do#
- Perform testing on construction materials including soils, concrete, masonry, and asphalt.
- Work onsite at various construction locations, often on uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
- Collaborate with project managers and technicians to ensure project specifications are met.
- Participate in a 3-day technical training event covering safety, soil classification, and industry certifications.
- Learn procedures related to ASTM, AASHTO, ACI, ICC, and DOT standards.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Construction Management degree program.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record for the last 3 years.
- Ability to lift 75+ pounds.
- Comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
- Mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving skills.

- Compensation: $20 - $24 per hour.
