About the role#
Braun Intertec Corporation is hiring for a 6-month co-op position in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This is a full-time, paid opportunity for students to gain field experience in civil engineering and construction materials testing. You will work on-site at commercial and transportation projects while receiving mentorship from a professional engineer.
What you'll do#
- Perform testing on construction materials including soils, concrete, masonry, and asphalt.
- Conduct onsite testing at various construction locations.
- Coordinate with project managers and technicians to verify that project specifications are met.
- Participate in a 3-day training event covering safety, lab procedures, and industry certifications.
- Learn to apply ASTM, AASHTO, ACI, ICC, and DOT standards.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Construction Management.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record for the last 3 years.
- Ability to lift 75+ pounds regularly.
- Flexibility to work overtime and weekends when required.
- Comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions and on uneven terrain.
