About the role#
Braun Intertec is offering a 6-month co-op for students pursuing an engineering degree or construction management. You will work out of our Bloomington or St. Paul offices from mid-May to December 2027. This is a paid, full-time position where you will receive technical training and the opportunity to earn industry certifications.
What you'll do#
- Perform testing on construction materials including soils, concrete, masonry, and asphalt.
- Conduct onsite materials testing for commercial and transportation projects.
- Collaborate with project managers and technicians to ensure project specifications are met.
- Communicate directly with construction crews in the field.
- Follow established procedures including ASTM, AASHTO, ACI, ICC, and DOT standards.
- Participate in a 3-day training event covering construction safety, soil compaction, and nuclear density gauge operation.
- Work with an assigned professional engineer mentor.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a college program for civil engineering or construction management.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record for the last 3 years.
- Ability to lift 75+ pounds.
- Capability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including on uneven terrain or at heights.
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends when necessary.
- A focus on safety and mechanical aptitude.

- This role is based in Bloomington, MN and St. Paul, MN.
- The position is 100% on-site.
- The term runs for 6 months from mid-May to December 2027.
- Compensation is $20 to $24 per hour.
