About the role#
Braun Intertec is hiring students for a 6-month co-op in Austin, Texas. This paid position provides field experience in civil engineering and construction materials testing. You will work under the guidance of a professional engineer mentor and receive technical training, including potential industry certifications.
What you'll do#
- Perform testing on construction materials like soils, concrete, masonry, and asphalt.
- Conduct onsite testing for commercial and transportation projects.
- Collaborate with project managers and technicians to verify that project specifications are met.
- Participate in a 3-day training event covering construction safety, soil compaction, and materials testing.
- Learn procedures and gain exposure to ASTM, AASHTO, ACI, ICC, and DOT standards.
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions, which may include uneven terrain, confined spaces, or supported trenches.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a college degree program for Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related construction management field.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record for the last 3 years.
- Physical ability to lift 75+ pounds and perform tasks like climbing, balancing, stooping, and kneeling.
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends when necessary.

- Compensation: $37,000.00 - $56,000.00.
