About the role#
Brady Ware & Company is hiring a Tax & Audit Intern for our Columbus office. This role provides hands-on experience in public accounting, focusing primarily on tax work with secondary exposure to audit tasks. You will work full time during the busy season, starting in January and continuing through the April 15th tax deadline.
What you'll do#
- Build a foundational understanding of trial balances and general ledgers.
- Prepare fixed asset depreciation schedules across multiple book and tax bases.
- Input and adjust client trial balances within tax software.
- Prepare individual and business tax returns for professional review.
- Manage your engagement time and track work in progress against budgets.
- Practice fundamental preparation skills for federal and state tax returns.
- Balance multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or Master's student.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week, with availability for up to 50 hours per week from early March through April 15th.
- Basic knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Completion of a tax curriculum is preferred.
