About the role#
Brady Ware & Company offers a Tax & Audit Internship for students pursuing a career in public accounting. This full-time position provides hands-on experience with client engagements, primarily focusing on tax preparation with secondary exposure to audit work. The internship runs from January through the April 15th tax deadline.
What you'll do#
- Develop a foundational understanding of trial balances, general ledgers, and tax software.
- Prepare fixed asset depreciation schedules across multiple book and tax bases.
- Input and adjust client trial balances within tax software.
- Prepare individual and business tax returns for professional review.
- Manage engagement time effectively, including tracking budgets and work in progress.
- Multitask and manage deadlines within a professional accounting environment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or Master's student in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week, with an expectation to work up to 50 hours per week from early March through April 15th.
- Basic knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Completion of a tax curriculum prior to the internship is preferred.
