About the role#
As a Student Radiology Technologist, you will join the team at Boys Town National Research Hospital to provide care to patients from across the region. You will assist in performing radiographic procedures and provide patient care while developing your technical skills under supervision. This role follows radiation safety and organizational standards.
What you'll do#
- Perform limited diagnostic radiographic procedures within the scope of your training.
- Assist with radiographic procedures, including portable exams, C-arm, and general x-ray.
- Position and instruct patients for exams using appropriate support and protective devices.
- Prepare rooms by setting up equipment and supplies.
- Apply proper infection control and sterile technique during procedures.
- Process images using DR and CR systems and assist with PACS workflow.
- Manage documentation, clerical functions, and ensure accurate patient records.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-stocked environment.
- Provide patient care and basic education.
- Participate in clinical learning experiences to build competency.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- A Temporary Medical Radiographer or Limited Radiologic Technologist license, if applicable per state regulations.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, required within 30 days of hire.
Location & details#
- This position is based in Omaha, Nebraska, at the West Hospital.
- The role is part-time and on-call, with hours that flex based on your availability.
- This is an on-site, paid role.
