About the role#
The R&D Systems Engineering Intern works with the R&D Engineering team to design medical devices through testing and technical documentation. This is a 6-month, full-time internship opportunity.
What you'll do#
- Research, develop, design, and evaluate electrical and electro-mechanical materials, components, assemblies, and equipment.
- Conduct feasibility studies to verify capability and functionality.
- Develop new concepts from initial design through to market release.
- Coordinate project activities and direct support personnel.
- Maintain detailed documentation throughout all phases of research and development.
- Improve processes and work methodologies using Agile and Lean principles to solve complex problems.
- Contribute to software and system risk assessment activities, including Design FMEA.
What you'll need#
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Biomedical Engineering.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience with product development in a regulated industry.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in English and French (oral and written) is required for collaboration with international teams and stakeholders.
- Preferred: Experience with power circuit design, power semiconductors, magnetic components, analog circuit design, and low-speed digital circuit design.
