The Firmware Development Intern collaborates with the R&D Engineering team to design medical devices. This role involves testing, documentation, and contributing to the development of embedded software for FPGA-based systems.
What you'll do#
- Develop embedded software for FPGAs used in medical devices.
- Debug and resolve embedded software issues.
- Troubleshoot interactions between hardware, firmware, and software components.
- Update and maintain technical software documentation.
- Participate in the qualification and testing of embedded software.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing or holding an undergraduate or master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience developing and debugging FPGA firmware using VHDL or Verilog.
- Proficiency with scripting languages such as Python.
- Experience using debugging tools, including oscilloscopes, multimeters, and debuggers.
- Strong understanding of digital and analog circuit design fundamentals.
- Exceptional communication skills with fluency in both English and French.
- Ability to work autonomously with high attention to detail.

- Location: Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
- Term: Winter 2026 (6-month contract).
- Modality: On-site.
- Status: Full-time, paid internship.
