Firmware Development Intern / stagiaire en développement de micrologiciels

About the role#

The Firmware Development Intern collaborates with the R&D Engineering team to design medical devices. This is a 6-month contract opportunity focused on technical documentation, testing, and embedded software development.

What you'll do#

• Develop embedded software for FPGA-based medical devices.
• Debug and fix software issues and troubleshoot interactions between hardware, firmware, and software.
• Participate in the qualification of embedded software.
• Contribute to the update and maintenance of technical software documentation.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing or holding an undergraduate or master's degree in Computer, Electrical, or Biomedical Engineering (or a related field).
• Experience developing and debugging FPGA firmware using VHDL or Verilog.
• Proficiency with scripting languages, specifically Python.
• Experience with hardware debugging tools such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and debuggers.
• Strong understanding of digital and analog circuit design fundamentals.
• Exceptional communication skills with fluency in English; working proficiency in French is considered an asset.
• Ability to work autonomously with high attention to detail and a capacity to learn quickly.
