About the role#
The Firmware Development Intern collaborates with the R&D Engineering team to design medical devices. This is a 6-month contract opportunity focused on technical documentation, testing, and embedded software development.
What you'll do#
- Develop embedded software for FPGA-based medical devices.
- Debug and fix software issues and troubleshoot interactions between hardware, firmware, and software.
- Participate in the qualification of embedded software.
- Contribute to the update and maintenance of technical software documentation.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing or holding an undergraduate or master's degree in Computer, Electrical, or Biomedical Engineering (or a related field).
- Experience developing and debugging FPGA firmware using VHDL or Verilog.
- Proficiency with scripting languages, specifically Python.
- Experience with hardware debugging tools such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and debuggers.
- Strong understanding of digital and analog circuit design fundamentals.
- Exceptional communication skills with fluency in English; working proficiency in French is considered an asset.
- Ability to work autonomously with high attention to detail and a capacity to learn quickly.
