R&D Prototyping Intern / stagiaire en prototypage RD

About the role#

The R&D Prototyping Intern supports key operations improvement initiatives and assists the team of technicians by coordinating technical information for the prototyping of medical devices, harnesses, and test fixtures. This role focuses on enhancing team agility and accuracy through the implementation of new processes and tools. You will work closely with the Inventory, Mechanical, Test, and Systems Engineering teams to support day-to-day operational efforts, including issue resolution and continuous improvement.

What you'll do#

• Prepare build information, including schematics, drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs), by coordinating with mechanical, systems, and test engineering teams.
• Develop process workflows, flowcharts, and Manufacturing Instructions (MIs) for prototype builds under R&D and clinical procedures.
• Collaborate with technicians to support technical tasks, answer questions, and facilitate the assembly of prototypes.
• Support the development of operational systems using low-code tools such as MS SharePoint Lists and Excel.
• Identify new equipment and techniques to improve physical build processes.

What you'll need#

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, industrial, or a related engineering field.
• Experience using BOMs, CAD software, and Engineering Drawing Standards.
• Strong proficiency in Excel, including the ability to manipulate data and formulas.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Fluency in both written and spoken English.
