As an R&D Engineering Co-op, you will join a team dedicated to addressing critical challenges in the medical device industry. This position provides the opportunity to work with cutting-edge tools and collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance medical technology. This is a paid, full-time, on-site co-op assignment.
What you'll do#
- Research, develop, design, and evaluate materials, components, assemblies, processes, and equipment.
- Perform hands-on testing, troubleshooting, and prototype development to support both new and existing products.
- Utilize CAD and Solidworks to complete engineering tasks.
- Design and coordinate engineering tests and experiments, including basic statistical analysis.
- Maintain detailed documentation throughout all phases of research and development.
- Gather technical data for reviews and prepare reports to communicate findings to the technical community.
- Contribute ideas to or generate Intellectual Property submissions.
- Collaborate with peers, engineering personnel, technicians, and management.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, or Biomechanical Engineering.
- Graduation date between Fall 2026 and Spring 2027.
- Availability for a full-time co-op assignment from July 13, 2026, to December 18, 2026.
- Eligibility to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.
- Reliable transportation to and from the Austin, TX location.

- Location: Austin, Texas.
- Work Modality: On-site (minimum of four days per week).
- Term: Fall/Winter 2026.
