As an R&D Engineering Systems Co-op, you will join an interdisciplinary team providing technical leadership across mechanical, electrical, software, and catheter engineering. You will support projects from concept through commercialization and assist in the sustainment of mapping systems. This role provides hands-on experience with system requirements, risk analysis, and verification activities.
What you'll do#
- Define and analyze system requirements, clinical workflows, and input/output processes using current systems engineering methods.
- Solve system problems by analyzing situations and recommending corrective or alternative actions.
- Document system architecture and design control elements through technical reports and memos.
- Collaborate with field, marketing, service, and other cross-functional teams to translate customer needs into technical requirements.
- Conduct evaluations of verification and validation activities.
- Assist with industry standards testing for safety and EMC.
- Support risk analysis activities for assigned projects.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or graduate-level degree in biomedical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or electrical engineering.
- Expected graduation date between Spring 2027 and Spring 2028.
- Proficiency in programming using MATLAB.
- Strong understanding of hardware and software systems.
- Experience with technical documentation and report writing.

- Location: Waltham, Massachusetts.
- Term: Summer 2026 (July 13th – December 18th).
- Modality: Full-time, on-site (five days per week).
- Sponsorship: This position does not offer visa sponsorship.
