About the role#
Industrial Engineers are integral to Boston Scientific’s continuous improvement strategy. Working cross-functionally across the Arden Hills site, you will focus on value-add activities by eliminating waste and improving the flow of product, material, and information. You will receive mentorship throughout your project work to ensure a consistent understanding and application of Lean methodologies across manufacturing lines, business processes, and the product development cycle.
What you'll do#
- Support the development and implementation of projects to improve metrics in safety, ergonomics, labor efficiency, WIP, cycle time, and floor space.
- Collect and analyze data to guide decision-making.
- Identify and capture the value of projects within the Value Improvement Process (VIP).
- Assist engineers with project scoping, feasibility studies, and cross-functional continuous improvement projects.
- Manage area layouts by incorporating safety and ergonomic guidelines while aligning with site space planning strategies.
- Facilitate Lean trainings and coach others on relevant Industrial Engineering concepts.
- Leverage Lean tools such as Work Content Graph, standard work, 5S, and Kaizen methodologies.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Industrial or Industrial & Systems Engineering degree program.
- Status as a rising junior, rising senior (graduating Dec 2026 – May 2028), graduating senior (May 2026) continuing to grad school, or current grad student.
- Must have at least one semester of school remaining following the internship.
- Experience facilitating projects, workshops, or leading efforts in work or extracurricular activities.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build effective relationships.

- Locations: Saint Paul and Arden Hills, Minnesota.
- Term: Summer 2026 (12-week duration).
- Modality: On-site (full-time).
- Compensation: This is a paid internship.
