Manufacturing Engineer Intern

About the role#

As a Manufacturing Engineer Intern, you will support the production of medical devices through engineering investigations of products, processes, materials, and equipment. You will contribute to the business goals of safety, quality, delivery, and cost by balancing hands-on troubleshooting with project planning and execution. This role involves reviewing production reports, attending daily standups, and applying academic knowledge to real-world engineering challenges.

What you'll do#

• Reduce scrap and increase product output for specific manufacturing lines and processes.
• Aid in the development of new products and processes.
• Perform process improvements on existing products and workflows.
• Utilize modern industry technology to integrate solutions with people.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve equipment and validation problems.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment as a rising junior, rising senior (graduating Dec 2026 - May 2028), graduating senior continuing to grad school, or current grad student. You must have at least one semester of school remaining after the internship.
• Pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Biomedical, or Industrial Engineering.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Lean Manufacturing in a work setting.
• Proficiency in analytical techniques and statistical analysis.
• Ability to start on May 18th or May 26th, 2026, for a 12-week duration.

• Location: Maple Grove, Minnesota.
• Term: Summer 2026.
• Modality: On-site (minimum four days per week).
• Status: Full-time, paid internship.
