About the role#
As a Product Engineering Intern, you will help build AI-powered security systems designed to protect organizations from cyber threats. You will work directly with security operations teams to develop autonomous systems that help address the analyst shortage in enterprise security operations centers. This position involves building agentic AI that functions within production security environments.
What you'll do#
- Implement a minimal version of Vellox Responder integrated with Tines for autonomous cyber threat defense.
- Create autonomous security remediation workflows.
- Integrate threat information from Vellox Ranger.
- Orchestrate response actions through Tines.
- Ensure AI agents are audit-ready by using Layer One governance frameworks.
- Build policy-governed autonomous systems.
What you'll need#
- Experience with Python programming for automation and API integration.
- Familiarity with REST APIs, webhooks, and JSON data processing.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity fundamentals, including common threats and security operations concepts.
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field, with a graduation date in Spring 2027 or 2028.
- Experience with the MITRE ATT&CK framework, threat intelligence, cloud platforms like AWS, and security tools such as SIEM and EDR is helpful.
- Familiarity with security automation, SOAR platforms, workflow orchestration, compliance frameworks like NIST 800-53, NIST AI RMF, and SOC 2, or agentic AI and machine learning.

- This is an on-site role located in McLean, Virginia.
- This is a part-time, paid internship with a rolling term.
