About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for the Winter 2027 term. You will work within the Mass Properties team in Mississauga, supporting the Global 7500/8000 programs. This position follows a hybrid work model and requires you to be a current student, as this opportunity is not available to new graduates. Occasional travel outside of Canada may be required for training or work purposes.
What you'll do#
- Perform physical weighing of aircraft, assemblies, and components.
- Calculate weight and center of gravity for aircraft.
- Create weight and balance reports.
- Define weight and center of gravity limitations and ballast requirements for the final assembly line.
- Monitor supplier weights and perform audits when necessary.
- Support production during line moves or jacking activities.
- Assist the systems engineering team with technical issues and governance.
- Manage databases and follow up on outstanding actions to support engineering deliverables.
- Track key performance indicators to support the Bombardier Operational Excellence System.
- Facilitate meetings, prepare presentation packages, and issue meeting minutes.
- Improve mass properties processes, procedures, and software tools.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an aerospace, mechanical, electrical, computer, or software engineering program.
- Strong oral and technical writing skills in English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
- Working knowledge of CATIA V5.
- Ability to work independently and show initiative.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships across departments.
- Programming skills in VBA, MATLAB, Python, or SciLab are considered assets.
