About the role#
As an intern in the Advanced Engineering group, you will work on software tools that support aircraft structural analysis. You will be part of a team focused on improving engineering software through development, testing, and debugging. This is a full-time, paid internship for the Winter 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Write and optimize tools for aircraft structural analysis.
- Build automatic finite element meshing tools.
- Improve existing graphical user interfaces to make them easier to use.
- Solve software development problems and suggest ways to improve current engineering tools.
- Work in a modern development environment using Git, Azure DevOps, and GitHub Copilot.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering program.
- Familiarity with Python development and object-oriented programming.
- Experience with software application testing and debugging.
- A strong work ethic and the ability to work autonomously.
- Preference is given to candidates available for an 8-month internship.
- Experience with C++, C#, VB.Net, Visual Studio, or Qt is a plus.
