Survey Field Intern

About the role#

As a Survey Field Intern, you will work primarily in the field alongside an experienced crew chief. This position offers the opportunity to apply classroom knowledge to active projects while gaining hands-on experience with industry-standard surveying equipment. You will interact with internal staff, landowners, contractors, and subcontractors.

What you'll do#

• Assist with boundary surveys, construction staking, topographic surveys, ALTA surveys, and GPS data collection.
• Gain experience using Trimble, Robotic Total Station, and GPS equipment.
• Engage with various stakeholders including contractors and property owners.

What you'll need#

• Enrollment in a Civil Engineering Technician, Land Surveying, Survey Technician, or related degree program at an accredited post-secondary institution.
• A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8, with a 3.2 GPA preferred.
• Ability to work in extended outdoor conditions and navigate rugged terrain physically.
• Valid driver’s license and insurability under the firm’s standard rates.
• Preferred: Coursework in general surveying and AutoCAD drafting.
• Note: Candidates must possess their own transportation for business-related travel (reimbursable) and will be subject to a motor vehicle record check.
