About the role#
Bolton & Menk is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern for the Transportation service group during the Summer 2026 season. This full-time, paid internship provides hands-on experience with community infrastructure projects, including roadway and intersection design layouts, traffic counting, and plan production for highway improvement projects.
What you'll do#
- Assist with civil engineering projects involving planning and design tasks.
- Prepare reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Perform construction observation, construction staking, and construction administration duties.
- Complete design calculations, write specifications, and review shop drawings.
- Conduct site visits for project assessments and calculations.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Civil Engineering or closely related degree program at an accredited institution.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8, with a 3.2 or above preferred.
- Current status of Sophomore or above, with completed coursework in general surveying and AutoCAD drafting.
- Ability to work in extended outdoor conditions and navigate rugged terrain.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship.
