Project Communication Intern - Summer 2026

About the role#

This is a full-time, paid internship for the Summer 2026 season based in Des Moines, Iowa. You will work directly with the communications team to support community outreach and marketing efforts for civil engineering projects.

What you'll do#

• Create, organize, and edit content for various marketing initiatives.
• Serve as a primary liaison between the project team and the local community.
• Produce project materials including newsletters, updates, notices, maps, and social media content.
• Manage the resident phone and email hotline.
• Attend weekly project team meetings and assist with general clerical tasks.
• Support the setup and cleanup of construction-related events and meetings.

What you'll need#

• Enrollment in an accredited college program for Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a closely related field.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8, with a preferred GPA of 3.2 or higher.
• Standing as a Sophomore or above is desired.
• Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator).
• Ability to write and edit concise, error-free documents.
• Coursework or experience in marketing, event management, social media, or graphic design.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
