About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2026 based in Mankato, Minnesota. You will work primarily in the field alongside an experienced crew chief, applying classroom knowledge to real-world civil engineering projects.
What you'll do#
- Assist with boundary surveys, construction staking, topographic surveys, ALTA surveys, and GPS data collection.
- Gain hands-on experience with Trimble, Robotic Total Station, and GPS equipment.
- Interact and coordinate with staff, landowners, contractors, and subcontractors.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Civil Engineering Technician, Land Surveying, Survey Technician, or related degree program at an accredited institution.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 (3.2 desired).
- Physical ability to work in extended outdoor conditions and navigate rugged terrain.
- A valid driver's license, personal transportation, and insurability under the firm's standard rates.
- Preferred: Coursework in general surveying and AutoCAD drafting.

- Compensation: $18.00 - $24.00/hour, depending on experience and credentials.
