About the role#
Bolton & Menk is seeking a Survey Field Intern for the Summer 2026 season in Chaska, Minnesota. This full-time, paid internship provides the opportunity to work alongside an experienced crew chief on real-world projects, applying classroom knowledge to field operations. This role requires on-site work and involves interaction with internal staff, landowners, contractors, and subcontractors.
What you'll do#
- Assist with boundary surveys, construction staking, topographic surveys, ALTA surveys, and GPS data collection.
- Gain hands-on experience using Trimble, Robotic Total Station, and GPS equipment.
- Participate in construction staking activities.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Civil Engineering Technician, Land Surveying, Survey Technician, or related degree program at an accredited institution.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 (3.2 is desired).
- Ability to work in extended outdoor conditions and navigate rugged terrain.
- A valid driver's license, insurability under the firm's standard rates, and reliable personal transportation.
- Preferred: Coursework in general surveying and AutoCAD drafting.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship.
