This is a paid, full-time summer 2026 internship position for a student eligible for the Krusell Fellowship. You will work on-site in Minneapolis, gaining practical experience in municipal, environmental, and transportation planning.
What you'll do#
- Collect and prepare data for a variety of planning projects.
- Assist with community meetings and research activities.
- Gain hands-on experience in comprehensive plans, land use analysis, and zoning ordinance development.
- Work on corridor and small area plans, as well as communications and public engagement.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in urban planning, public policy, geography, public administration, or a closely related field at an accredited college.
- Eligibility for the Krusell Fellowship as a student at the University of Minnesota.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8, with a 3.2 or above preferred.
- A valid driver’s license and reliable personal or public transportation.
Location & details#
- Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota.
- Term: Summer 2026.
- Compensation: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour, depending on experience and credentials.
- Business-related travel is reimbursed; relocation and housing assistance are not provided.
