About the role#
Bolton & Menk is seeking a Landscape Architecture Intern for the Summer 2026 term in Des Moines, Iowa. This full-time, paid internship offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in landscape architecture, land planning, and urban design across various community infrastructure projects, including parks, streetscapes, and riverfront designs.
What you'll do#
- Assist with graphic renderings and 3D visualization.
- Prepare plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Assist in planning, organizing, and performing multiple landscape architecture projects.
- Travel to work sites and project-related locations as necessary.
- Apply landscape architecture concepts to solve site design issues.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Landscape Architecture at an accredited institution.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8, with 3.2 or above preferred.
- Developing knowledge of technical software, including Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, Arc GIS, and AutoCAD.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize work.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- A valid driver’s license and personal transportation.
- Submission of a portfolio containing at least 3 work samples in PDF format with your resume.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship.
