Civil Engineering Intern - Summer 2026

About the role#

Bolton & Menk is seeking Civil Engineering Interns for the Summer 2026 season. This full-time, paid internship provides practical experience across various service groups, including Transportation, Environmental, Civil/Municipal, and Site Development. Interns will spend the majority of their time supporting construction phase activities for municipal projects.

What you'll do#

• Assist with civil engineering projects, including planning and design tasks.
• Prepare reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Perform construction observation, construction staking, and construction administration duties.
• Complete design calculations, write specifications, and review shop drawings as assigned.

What you'll need#

• Enrollment in a Civil Engineering or closely related degree program at an accredited institution.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 (3.2 or above desired).
• Sophomore status or higher, with completed coursework in general surveying and AutoCAD drafting.
• Ability to work in extended outdoor conditions and navigate rugged terrain for construction observation.
• A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for visa sponsorship.

• Compensation: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour, based on experience and credentials.
