About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2026 based in Baxter, Minnesota. Interns will gain practical experience supporting municipal infrastructure projects, with a primary focus on construction phase activities. Opportunities may span various service groups, including transportation, environmental, civil/municipal, site development, and structural engineering.
What you'll do#
- Assist with civil engineering projects, including planning and design tasks.
- Prepare reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Perform construction observation, construction staking, and construction administration duties.
- Complete design calculations and review shop drawings as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Civil Engineering or closely related degree program at an accredited institution.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8, with a 3.2 or above preferred.
- Sophomore status or higher, with completed coursework in general surveying and AutoCAD drafting.
- Ability to work in extended outdoor conditions and navigate rugged terrain for construction observation.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship.

- Compensation: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour, based on experience and credentials.
