Civil Engineering Intern - Summer 2026

About the role#

Bolton & Menk, Inc. is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern for the Summer 2026 term. This position provides practical, on-the-job experience supporting municipal infrastructure projects. Interns will spend the majority of their time engaged in construction phase activities, with potential opportunities across service groups including transportation, environmental, civil/municipal, site development, and structural engineering.

What you'll do#

• Assist with civil engineering projects involving planning and design tasks.
• Prepare reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Perform construction observation, construction staking, and construction administration duties.
• Complete design calculations and review shop drawings as assigned.

What you'll need#

• Enrollment in a Civil Engineering or closely related degree program at an accredited institution.
• Sophomore status or above is desired, with completed coursework in general surveying and AutoCAD drafting.
• A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8, with 3.2 or above preferred.
• Ability to work in extended outdoor conditions and navigate rugged terrain for construction observation.
• A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship.

• Schedule: Full-time.
• Compensation: Paid position, with an hourly range of $18.00 - $24.00 depending on experience and credentials.
