Civil Engineering Intern - Site Design: Summer 2026

About the role#

This Civil Engineering internship for Summer 2026 focuses on site design projects, including school renovations and recreation areas. You will work within the Community Design service group, supporting project managers and engineers with both design and construction phase activities.

What you'll do#

• Assist with civil engineering projects involving planning and design tasks.
• Prepare reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Perform construction observation, construction staking, and construction administration duties.
• Complete design calculations, write specifications, and review shop drawings as needed.

What you'll need#

• Enrollment in a Civil Engineering or closely related degree program at an accredited institution.
• A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8, with a 3.2 or above preferred.
• Sophomore status or higher, with completed coursework in general surveying and AutoCAD drafting.
• Ability to work in extended outdoor conditions and navigate rugged terrain for construction observation.
• A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
