About the role#
This position provides primary support and back-up for the Global Risk Management and Insurance function at Bobcat Company. You will gain hands-on experience by applying your academic knowledge to real-world projects while working directly with skilled professionals. This is a full-time, paid opportunity for the Winter 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Implement and maintain risk management principles, policies, internal controls, and processes.
- Assist with risk analytics and program modeling.
- Review leases, contracts, and legal agreements to evaluate insurance and indemnification terms.
- Recommend modifications to insurance requirements and indemnification wording.
- Research and evaluate trends in risk management, safety, loss control, and claims management.
- Establish and update a comprehensive risk management framework.
- Attend insurance-related meetings with brokers and insurance companies.
- Coordinate loss control activity, insurance claims management, and claim litigation processes.
- Manage 1st party claims against insurers or 3rd parties.
- Oversee and coordinate Insurance Certificate activity.
- Review and reconcile claim payment activity and insurance-related invoices.
- Compile underwriting data for insurance renewals.
- Consult with affiliates regarding their insurance programs.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a 4-year undergraduate or graduate degree program.
- Academic focus in Insurance, Risk Management, Legal Studies, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or an equivalent field.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to work as a team player, learn quickly, and adapt to change.
- Self-starter mindset with the ability to work independently.
- Familiarity with MS Office applications including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
