About the role#
This Manufacturing Engineering Student Experience offers an opportunity to apply your academic knowledge to real-world projects. You will work alongside professionals at a global machinery manufacturing company. This position is a full-time, paid commitment for the Summer 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Assist in developing layouts for capital projects and calculate cycle times.
- Develop time studies for line balancing and setup reduction.
- Support new product and ECN implementation.
- Create programs for lasers, plasmas, brakes, and turret machines.
- Help develop and implement Lean/DFT initiatives and automation programs.
- Assist with process documentation, workflow, and work-content identification.
- Support factory safety, quality, reliability, and productivity improvements.
- Aid in the implementation of the Orange Powdered System and conveyor weight capacity projects.
- Work on paint quality improvements and defect reduction.
What you'll need#
- Current standing as a Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, or Senior.
- Enrollment in a Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering degree program.
- A 3.0 GPA or higher is preferred.
- Ability to commit to a full-time, 4-month internship.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint).
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.

- This is an on-site position.
- Locations include Gwinner, ND; Bismarck, ND; Wahpeton, ND; Johnson Creek, WI; Litchfield, MN; Otsego, MN; and Statesville, NC.
