About the role#
The Press Distribution Center Assistant helps fulfill BJU Press orders. You will pick and pack items, prepare shipments, and assist with general distribution tasks to support the team.
What you'll do#
- Complete orders assigned to your queue.
- Assemble boxes and pack items according to established plans and procedures.
- Add packing material to prevent damage and scan boxes to include packing slips.
- Inform the Line Coordinator about stock-outs or issues with items and locations.
- Load UPS parcel trailers and prepare pallet shipments for LTL carriers.
- Organize boxes for customer pick-ups and campus deliveries.
- Assist customers at the pick-up window.
- Maintain a stocked, clean, and safe work area.
- Help with other support tasks as needed.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment as a student at Bob Jones University.
- Minimum age of 18 years old.
- Ability to lift or carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to push or pull up to 40 lbs constantly and up to 100 lbs occasionally.
- Capacity to work on your feet for long periods.
- Focus and discipline to perform tasks for extended durations.
- Good hand-eye coordination and physical agility.
- Ability to work well with others and learn new tasks.
- Note: The use of cell phones or listening devices is not permitted during working hours.
