Academic Resource Center Liaison (Student)

About the role#

The Academic Resource Center Liaison serves as a student representative to promote student success and provide support for the Academic Resource Center. This role involves assisting students, faculty, and staff with resources such as academic coaching, testing, accommodations, and tutoring. The position requires availability during both day and evening hours to serve as an Alumni Building Host.

What you'll do#

• Provide support for Academic Resource Center resources as directed by the Student Engagement Director or Office Manager.
• Assist students and visitors with general questions and help them locate faculty offices and other areas within the Alumni Building.
• Promote the Academic Resource Center to students, faculty, staff, and parents.
• Conduct tours of the center for visitors and First-year Seminar classes.
• Represent the center during BJU Up Close events.
• Manage building operations as the Alumni Building Host, including answering questions about activities, monitoring classroom usage, and handling building closing procedures.
• Serve as a backup for the Testing Center graduate student.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment as a student at Bob Jones University (second semester freshman or above).
• Christlike character, including a desire to serve others, teachability, and a strong work ethic.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Ability to handle routine clerical duties, self-motivation, and initiative.
• Friendliness and a spirit of servant-leadership.
