About the role#
An internship at Bluestem Biosciences is a chance to explore a potential future together. This program focuses on mutual discovery where you gain experience and we identify new talent. You will contribute to projects that deliver advancements in industrial biotechnology and sustainable action. You will also use AI to expand your knowledge and role to make a larger impact. Each intern works with a dedicated sponsor who provides continuous feedback throughout the term.
What you'll do#
Depending on your background, you will join one of three areas:
- Research/Science: Work on research and composition projects, including biochemistry and synthetic biology.
- Business/Finance/Strategy: Assist with business strategy, financial modeling, industry research, and competitor analysis.
- Chemical Engineering: Focus on process development, optimization, and scale-up of bio-based chemical production, including process modeling and data analysis.
Across all paths, you will contribute to core company goals such as developing bio-based chemical markets, downstream separation processes, computational biology tools, or strain engineering strategies.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in biology, chemical engineering, business administration, finance, or a related field.
- A strong academic record.
- Excellent communication skills.
- A proactive mindset with an eagerness to learn and take on new challenges.
- A genuine interest in the Bluestem mission.
