About the role#
An internship at Bluestem Biosciences is a chance for us to explore a potential future together. You will gain experience in industrial biotechnology while we discover new talent. This is a full-time, paid position where you will use AI to expand your knowledge and contribute to projects that advance the bioeconomy. We offer a monthly stipend to support your time with us.
What you'll do#
Your work will focus on projects that contribute to our mission of producing bio-based chemicals. Depending on your background, you will:
- Conduct research and composition projects in biology.
- Assist with business strategy, financial modeling, industry research, and competitor analysis.
- Support process development, optimization, and scale-up of chemical production.
- Perform process modeling, experimental design, and data analysis.
- Develop bio-based chemical markets.
- Work on downstream separation processes, computational biology tools, or strain engineering strategies.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Biology, Chemical Engineering, Business Administration, or Finance.
- A strong academic record.
- A genuine interest in our mission.
- Excellent communication skills.
- A proactive, curious mindset and an eagerness to learn or take on new challenges.

- This role is based on-site in Omaha, Nebraska.
- The internship term is rolling.
