About the role#
Blue J is hiring a Software Developer for an 8-12 month internship beginning in May 2027. You will join our engineering team to work on real-world projects, contributing to our tax research platform. Interns are treated as full-time team members and are expected to take on meaningful responsibility from the start.
What you'll do#
- Build user-facing product features and design strategies for answering complex questions.
- Work on Agentic AI workflows and implement new data pipelines.
- Design new search algorithms and extend internal data-mesh infrastructure.
- Plan and execute work in an iterative and incremental fashion.
- Write clean code covered by automated tests to maintain system health.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in the third year of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
- Experience working with web or generative AI technologies.
- Familiarity with Git version control and collaborative coding practices.
- Understanding of agile software development practices.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time paid position.
- The role is remote, with the expectation of occasional in-person meetings at our Toronto office (1-2 times per quarter).
- We are hiring for Summer 2027 and Fall 2027 terms.
- We do not provide visa sponsorship.
