About the role#
The Service Intelligence and Analytics team supports Customer Service through advanced analytics and strategic modeling. You will work with the Service Avengers group to identify opportunities for improvement in member and provider experiences. Your primary focus is the development and potential implementation of a project that impacts a specific process, system, function, or product. This internship provides hands-on experience in the health insurance industry and helps you build professional connections across the organization.
What you'll do#
- Use analytics to develop projects with moderate to complex scope and deliverables.
- Prepare research materials to identify business problems and assist management with implementing solutions.
- Support leaders on projects designed to improve organizational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Analyze business goals, objectives, and needs.
- Build a working knowledge of BCBSM business, products, programs, data, and organizational structure.
- Participate in networking events, volunteer activities, and department meetings.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate, graduate, Master’s, or PhD program.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suites and internal systems.
- Ability to maintain confidential information and build effective working relationships.
