About the role#
The Continuous Improvement Intern supports our operational excellence and efficiency goals. You will work with cross-functional teams to identify, analyze, and implement process improvements. This role provides experiential learning by connecting classroom concepts to real-world applications in food manufacturing. You will receive feedback, meet with supervisors, and participate in career readiness and networking opportunities.
What you'll do#
- Work with the CI Engineer to plan, coordinate, and analyze projects.
- Perform net weight and downtime analysis.
- Provide current state data and proposals for improvement.
- Track data for selected production processes.
- Support initiatives to reduce waste through experimentation, design, optimization, and documentation.
- Help improve safety, cycle times, productivity, and capacity.
- Focus on process reliability and customer satisfaction regarding on-time delivery, yields, and quality.
What you'll need#
- Current candidate for a degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken English.
- Math skills including operations with units of measure, rates, ratios, percentages, and graph interpretation.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and solve problems with concrete variables.
- Competence in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook.
