About the role#
The Bismarck Larks are seeking a Merchandise Intern for the Summer 2027 season. This role offers hands-on experience in retail management, inventory control, and sales within the sports and event industry. You will support the operations team by managing merchandise and assisting with broader ballpark event logistics.
What you'll do#
- Execute merchandise operations, including store setup, stocking, and daily operation.
- Handle cash and process credit card transactions for fans.
- Complete and submit end-of-home-stand inventory reports.
- Perform general cleaning and organization of the merchandise store and storage areas.
- Serve as a Larks representative at games, promotions, and Funatix events.
- Distribute marketing materials like pocket schedules and posters throughout the community.
- Assist with setup and tear-down for the ballpark and the Family Fun Zone.
- Maintain general ballpark cleanliness.
- Perform as the team mascot at least once during the summer.
- Collect and inventory all items at the end of the season.
What you'll need#
- Current college student status with a focus on Sport Management, Event Management, Hospitality, Business, Marketing, Sales, or Merchandising.
- Availability for all home games, team events, and Funatix events, including weekends and holidays.
- Capacity to work extended shifts of 14 hours or more.
- Ability to lift between 50 and 150 lbs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Sheets.
- Prior experience with cash handling.
- Strong organizational, time management, and verbal communication skills.
- A positive attitude and the ability to take initiative.
- Commitment to core values including being experience-obsessed and a community builder.
- Customer service or management experience is preferred.

- Term: Summer 2027 (May 10th to August 13th).
- Work Modality: On-site.
- This is an unpaid internship, though a stipend is available to assist with living expenses. Housing options are provided by the organization.
