Student Project Coordinator

About the role#

Bird Construction is seeking a Student Project Coordinator for a 4 or 8-month internship starting in September 2026. This position is based in Edmonton, Alberta, and offers students the opportunity to manage specific project responsibilities while receiving support from an assigned supervisor and technical mentor.

What you'll do#

• Coordinate drawings and work specific scopes and trades.
• Review trade quotes, verify material quantities, hours, and rates.
• Conduct deficiency walks and update deficiency logs.
• Create and maintain graphical scheduling and update project schedules.
• Supervise sub-trade work and coordinate with site conditions.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and layout site lines and grades using total station.
• Participate in project meetings, issue warranties, and manage progress documentation.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in a Civil, Mechanical, Structural, or Industrial Engineering program.
• Completion of at least one more semester of education following the internship.
• A minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Highly developed interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to lead and operate in an environment where change happens frequently.
• Strong ability to build and maintain positive professional relationships.
• Possession of a valid work permit allowing for employment with Bird Construction.
