Student Project Coordinator

About the role#

This is a full-time, paid 4-month co-op position for the Fall 2026 term. Interns are assigned a supervisor and technical mentor to support their professional development while managing specific areas of responsibility.

What you'll do#

• Coordinate drawings and work for specific scopes and trades.
• Review trade quotes, verify material quantities, hours, and rates.
• Conduct deficiency walks and maintain deficiency logs.
• Update project schedules and create and maintain graphical scheduling.
• Issue warranties and coordinate progress photos.
• Update field drawings and produce as-built drawings.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and verify site conditions.
• Supervise sub-trade work and coordinate sub-trade activities.
• Set up and maintain project record keeping.
• Layout site lines and grades using total station.
• Participate in project meetings and monitor manpower productivity.

What you'll need#

• Currently enrolled in a Civil, Mechanical, Structural, or Industrial Engineering program.
• Must have at least one semester of education remaining following the internship.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Ability to lead and operate in a frequently changing environment.
• Strong commitment to achieving goals and a sense of urgency.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a positive attitude.
• Must possess residency or a valid work permit to work for Bird Construction.
• Submission of a current transcript is required.
