About the role#
Bird Construction is seeking a Student Project Coordinator for a 4-month co-op position starting in September 2026. This role provides an opportunity to manage specific areas of responsibility on a construction project while receiving support from a supervisor and technical mentor.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate drawings and manage specific work scopes and trades.
- Review trade quotes, verify material quantities, hours, and rates.
- Participate in project meetings and conduct deficiency walks to update logs.
- Update project schedules, create manual schedules, and monitor manpower productivity.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and verify site conditions against drawings.
- Coordinate sub-trade work and supervise site activities.
- Issue warranties, take progress photos, and maintain field and as-built drawings.
- Set up and maintain project record-keeping systems.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Civil, Mechanical, Structural Engineering, or Construction program.
- Completion of at least one semester of education following the internship.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Ability to lead and operate effectively in a changing environment.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to build and maintain positive professional relationships.
- Residency or a valid work permit to work for Bird Construction.
- Submission of a current transcript with your application.
- Potential requirement to complete pre-employment medical or drug and alcohol testing for specific client projects.
